Math foundations
Revisit the building blocks behind a difficult lesson, then connect them to current work. Practice can focus on number sense, fractions, algebra or the steps in a multi-part problem.
Reading & writing
Help your child understand what a text says and explain their own thinking. For writing tasks, work on planning, paragraph structure and revising against the assignment instructions.
Organization & follow-through

Make the assignment list easier to use.

Where do Mountlake Terrace students meet their tutor?
In-person sessions are at our Shoreline center, 18336 Aurora Avenue N, Suite 115. Live online sessions are also available. We do not operate a separate Mountlake Terrace center.
Can you help with the transition to a busier grade?
Tell us which subjects or routines have become harder. The starting plan can address both academic foundations and the skills needed to manage several teachers, assignments or deadlines.
Do students need to be behind to benefit?
No. Families can also ask about strengthening a difficult skill, handling a new course or developing more independent work habits. Share a specific goal so the conversation has a useful focus.
Will tutoring finish my child’s homework for them?
The aim is to help students understand the work and apply skills themselves. Current assignments can reveal where support is needed, but completing a worksheet is not the same as learning the method.
What happens after we request a consultation?
MyHLC contacts the parent or guardian to discuss the student’s needs, current rates and appointment options. Parent phone and email are required, including when a student submits the form with permission.
