Ask about support with the current topic and grade. A useful goal is something the student can demonstrate independently, such as setting up an equation, explaining the evidence for an answer or revising a paragraph. Tutoring should help the student do the work, not complete assignments for them.
For missing deadlines or difficulty getting started, focus on a manageable planning routine. For SAT, ACT, ISEE or SSAT preparation, identify the exact exam and level first. A practice result can guide the discussion, but you do not need to take a full test before contacting us.
Everett Public Schools provides ParentVUE and StudentVUE access through its Grades & More page. If your student attends that district, review the latest grades together and choose one assignment or teacher comment to discuss. A missing submission needs a different response from a concept the student cannot yet explain.

Live online tutoring can remove the trip to Shoreline from the school week. Ask about suitability for the student’s age, subject, device and working environment. If you prefer in-person sessions, confirm appointment availability and plan travel to our existing Shoreline center. We do not promise a particular journey time.
Suppose a student has three missing math assignments. First, identify whether the work was forgotten, never submitted or left unfinished because a concept was confusing. Bring one example and the teacher’s instructions. That helps separate a planning goal from a math-learning goal, instead of simply adding more homework time.
