We’ll contact a parent or guardian about goals and scheduling. Students: use your parent’s details with their permission.
Parents and guardians should submit inquiries for children under 13. Please do not include diagnoses, medical records or sensitive documents. Your inquiry is saved and emailed to our team so we can respond. Website terms and educational disclaimer.
Submitting asks MyHLC to contact the parent about this tutoring inquiry.
Revisit the building blocks behind a difficult lesson, then connect them to current work. Practice can focus on number sense, fractions, algebra or the steps in a multi-part problem.
Help your child understand what a text says and explain their own thinking. For writing tasks, work on planning, paragraph structure and revising against the assignment instructions.
Support the move from reminders to a repeatable routine: find the task, choose the first step, check the work and confirm it was submitted. Large projects become smaller, visible steps. Explore study skills tutoring or try our weekly homework planning guide.
Mountlake Terrace families in 98043 can use the first conversation to sort out what is overdue, what is upcoming and what is genuinely difficult. These are different concerns, even when they appear on the same list.
Choose one task with your child and ask them to explain the first step. If they know what to do but cannot organize it, planning may be the focus. If the concept is unclear, bring that example for subject support.
Edmonds School District provides Family Canvas guidance for classes using Canvas in grades 3–12. Families can review course information, assignments and feedback. Use the instructions for a current task to help identify what your child needs to practice.

Share the grade, the main concern and any deadline. A recent assignment or teacher comment gives the conversation a useful starting point.
Discuss the evaluation, learning format, rates and appointments. Ask what the first sessions would focus on and how practice fits around school.
Use progress updates to discuss what is improving and what still needs practice. Look for specific changes in understanding, independence and follow-through.

MyHLC contacts the parent or guardian to discuss the student’s needs, current rates and appointment options. Parent phone and email are required, including when a student submits the form with permission.
